I’m heading to Spain tonight to go to the NKT Fall Festival. I have a few posts in the queue but y’all probably won’t see many posts for a while. If I can find some decent wifi over there I’ll try to post some pictures from the festival.

In about a week from now, I’ll be in southern Spain receiving the blessing empowerment of Buddha Vajrapani at the annual NKT Fall Festival. I’ll be getting all my travel documents together and packing this weekend.  Looking forward to it. Vajrapani is a Buddha whose function is to destroy the delusions of living beings by bestowing special power upon their body and mind.  His name means ‘Vajra Holder’, which indicates that he is the holder of Secret Mantra, the lineage holder of Buddha’s Tantric teachings.  Through his blessings and inspiration we can gain the inner strength to face our daily problems and sufferings and to eliminate our delusions, especially our self-grasping ignorance.  Delusions are the true enemies of living beings; they continually rob us of inner peace and destroy our happiness.  Receiving this empowerment connects us directly with Buddha Vajrapani, giving us the inspiration and confidence to progress successfully on the spiritual path and eventually attain our final goal, the supreme happiness of enlightenment.

And with no time to waste, we started working on him. This particular Buddha and lotus that arrived to Spain are coming from Tara Centre in England, where they are building the first Kadampa school for kids.
